I Wish, I Dream, I Promise: Make a Storybook to celebrate you

Join us on June 21, 2009 to make a storybook

Inspired by local traditions from the distant mountains of Ladakh, India artist Sushmita Mazumdar teaches you how to make little Amulet Books which you fill with your wishes, dreams, and promises. These special books can then be worn or displayed so that the words may be celebrated all through the year.

These special books will also help carry the dreams of hundreds of mothers and children in India who wish for education. The Ten Dollars for Literacy Program by the India Literacy Project will benefit with every little Amulet Book you and your child make. So come on, bring the family along, and let’s change some lives forever!

Sushmita Mazumdar, is a Greater Washington DC area writer, designer, and book artist. She teaches art education programs for children and adults encouraging storytelling and passing cultural heritage from one generation to the next. She has conducted workshops at museums, public schools, and arts institutions.
