Early this year, I joined a group of crazy runners, called the 12M-12M who planned to run 12 marathons in 12 months and also raise funds for their favourite charities. Meeting them half-way I signed up for 6 marathons and 6 half-marathons. Five Marathons and 5 Half-marathons later, I guess I am ready for the 75 km at the toughest trail in Bangalore- the Ultra on 13th Nov 2011.

The Bangalore Ultra is very special event for me. It offers me a fantastic opportunity not just to participate in one of the toughest trail ultras, but also to raise funds for education and literacy initiatives of India Literacy Project. The chance to run for a worthy cause really means that I am running with a purpose. The Bangalore-ultra is a challenge. But this challenge is nothing in comparison to the daily struggles that many children supported by India Literacy Project face.

Last year when I set two goals- of completing 75 km and raising of Rs. 75K, your love, enthusiasm and financial contributions helped me reach my first goal and exceed the 2nd one, raising Rs. 134K. Together we supported two libraries which are helping more than 255+ children grow by reading in the Sanjeevaninagar and the Bainahalli areas of North Bangalore (read about the difference you made).

This year my goals are to improve my timing for the 75km and also raise Rs. 1.50 lakhs for the two libraries, so that we could sustain these libraries and reach a lot more children in the government schools around these. Would you please join me in my effort again this year? As always your contribution to this worthy cause will spur me on, every step of the 75km.
