Project Description

This project is targeted towards providing primary education for children in the Lambada Thandas where there are no educational institutions and infrastructure. The program uses specially designed educational kits as part of the curriculum; children are later enrolled into government schools. Strengthening community based organizations to stop child marriages, spreading health awareness and mandating free and compulsory education for all children are objectives of this program.

•  Eight Balwadi centers providing primary education to children
•  Five Non Formal Centers educating children and enrolling them into mainstream government schools

Accomplishments

•  Child marriages stopped in some villages since 3 years
•  Implemented birth registrations in villages
•  Government adopted 2 Balwadi’s run by CARPED
•  Government approves building funds for child clubs
