Project Description

This project aims to promote education for children of migrant laborers and to impart skill-training for educated unemployed youth.
"BAL MITRA VIDYALAYA" as the name reflects is a child friendly school run by SRKPS. Eight centers are operational in these places. The areas were selected after a survey that determined that there was no school and a large number of children were deprived of education. Children in these areas were involved in begging, herding animals or engaged in hazardous activities. Parents are non-literate and are not aware of the importance of educating their children. With support from ILP these centers are providing free education.
