Update on the half-day Career Opportunties session organized by ILP.
As a part of the Pratibha Mitra programme, ILP organized a half day session on 'Career Opportunities in Commerce' for students who have received the Pratibha Poshak scholarship. This was held on 28th Aug.2005, at Indian Social Institute, Benson Town, Bangalore.
A Slum that is free of child labor.
Akkiappa Garden community overtakes Government!
Akkiappa Garden, now called JCR Nagar has got the prestigious status of a slum without child laborers, while the State Government target is 2007. Today, (28th June 2005) the community formally announced that they are proud to claim that all the children from the slum are either in schools or anganwadies or with their caring parents as kids. Mr.Chauhan, Program Director, NCLP, Bangalore Urban District along with other guests joined the community to take the message to others.
