In Wanaparthy district, a 17-year-old girl was on the brink of being forced into child marriage—a harmful practice that would have stolen her education, freedom, and future. But thanks to the vigilance and swift intervention of our NGO partner, Rural Development Society (RDS), her story changed course.
Upon identifying the case, the RDS team immediately alerted authorities, triggering a coordinated response. Officials from the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), Childline, the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), local police, Anganwadi workers, and the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) worked together to stop the marriage and protect the girl’s rights.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the RDS team and all officials involved. Their timely action not only prevented a rights violation but also gave this young girl the chance to pursue a brighter future.
