One of the most exciting yet confusing questions for students. With so many career options, changing interests, peer and parental pressures, making the “right” career choice feels overwhelming.

The truth is, there is no single right answer—because careers depend on passion, aptitude, opportunities, and evolving interests.

Also, students often grapple with fears of failure, limited exposure, and too many choices. Add to that the uncertainty of whether today’s interests will remain relevant tomorrow, and it becomes clear why career planning feels daunting. Yet, career decisions are among the most important choices a young person makes, shaping both livelihood and life satisfaction.

ILP’s 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, starting in Grade 9, helps address the multiple challenges.

The journey begins with 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆—understanding strengths, interests, and purpose. This is followed by 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 through charts, books, apps, and expert interactions. Students then 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, supported by guided reflection on what it takes to succeed. Finally, 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, with parental involvement, ensures informed decision-making post Grade 10.

With continuous 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, students are empowered to create flexible, realistic plans. Most importantly, they realize that careers are not just about making a living—they’re about building a life of purpose.

If you believe every child deserves not just education, but the chance to discover their purpose, partner with ILP.
