A ๐ ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฒ (๐๐ช๐) is more than just an upgraded facility under the ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ (๐๐๐๐ฆ) scheme โ it represents a space where care, early learning, and community engagement come together to support the holistic development of children and the wellbeing of mothers.
These centres are designed to serve pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under five. But what truly makes a centre โ๐บ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐นโ is the quality of its daily practices. Anganwadi teachers and helpers lead structured, engaging learning activities for at least two hours every day. ILP along with its partner NGOs train the Anganwadi workers to plan the sessions using the stateโs preschool syllabus, create teaching-learning materials (TLMs), and deliver meaningful experiences that support early childhood development.

To ensure these standards are being met, the Anganwadi Centres are assessed twice a year using the ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐บ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ and the ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฑ๐๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐๐ต module which focuses on school readiness for children entering Grade 1.
Ultimately, a model Anganwadi isnโt just about infrastructure โ itโs about creating an environment where every child is nurtured, every parent feels involved, and every day lays the foundation for lifelong learning.
