The workshop kicked off with Professor K. Ravichandran, who spoke about how computer skills are valuable tools for shaping the world.

Professor Thanasekar welcomed everyone and explained the significance of C Programming โ€“ it’s like the original language that many other programming languages are based on.

Professor Vinayaka Sundaram encouraged the students to keep learning and stay curious about technology.

The workshop wasn’t just lectures!

A total of 35 students from GBHSS Porur, MMA GHSS Pallavaram, GHSS Movarasampettai, and TP GHSS Puzhuthivakkam participated in the workshop.

On the last day, all the students received certificates for completing the workshop from Professor Thanasekar and Mr. A.L. Rangarajan, CEOย India Literacy Project.

Mr. Rangarajan also talked about ILP’s efforts to help people all over India learn ICT skills, and his satisfaction in collaborating with MIT to offer this program to government school students in Tamil Nadu.

Thank youย Madras Institute of Technologyย and Dr. Kalam Computing Centre team for the 5-day workshop in opening new vistas for these students and we are sure these students can now dream big and pursue a career in information technology.
