India Literacy Project is looking for young and dynamic team members to join us as Trainer cum Facilitator for engaging in Electronics and Science training across Tamil Nadu.
About ILP
India Literacy Project ( ILP ) is a volunteer based organization with chapters across US and India.
With its vision to be ‘A catalyst for 100% literate and educated India’, ILP works at the grassroots to innovate and implement meaningful interventions to improve access to schools, enroll out of school children, retain children who are vulnerable to drop out, improve learning and provide pathways to productive careers.
ILP scales its interventions through its partnerships with other NGOs, Government, CSRs, Foundations and Individuals.
About the project
An initiative by IITM and TN Government under the part of “Anaivarukkum IITM”(IITM for All) in collaboration with ILP, is an initiative for promoting STEM education (including electronics and science education) for the rural government school students. The objective of the project are as follows, but not limited to
- Making rural government school students fearless and enthusiastic to learn electronics and science with a confidence and minimal guidance
- Kindle students (Grades IX to XII) passion for electronics in creative and innovative ways and support in building a career in electronics industries
- Improve students conceptual learning of science (under Grades VI to X) by using ILP science kit
Position Name: Trainer cum Facilitator (Electronics and Science training)
Responsibilities
- Conduct baseline and end line assessments of school students
- Delivering theoretical and practical classes to the teachers / students in the Government schools (Electronics, and Science)
- Documentation of the learning process at all stages
- Providing guidance and mentoring throughout the learning programme
- Demonstrating expertise and professionalism, including during all inspections
- Online data management
- Organize science and electronics exhibitions
- Networking/Collaborating with district education department and school management team
- Generate learning outcome reports ( Monthly / Quarterly / Annually)
- Willingness to travel within and outside districts of posting
- Update daily work reports
Requirements
- Educational qualification preferred E (ECE), B.E (EEE), BSc Electronics and Communication
- Overall experience of 2 to 3 years
- A solid electronics background (Electronics lab handling, troubleshooting, and theoretical and practical knowledge)
- Knowledge of basic science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) is essential
- Competent IT skills
- Training / teaching experience is mandatory
- Good communication skills
- English and Tamil language skills mandatory (Reading/Writing/Speaking)
- Usage of MS office package (Word / PowerPoint/Excel) Locations: Across Tamil Nadu
Contract Tenure : One year (Extendable based on the performance)
Selection Process
- Written test – 120 mins – Will cover aptitude, electronics , and science
- Computer skills: Practical test on computer tools like word, power point, excel, basic usage of Internet etc
- For those candidates passing through the written test, we will have a face-to-face
- All candidates should prepare and conduct a class on 2 topics (electronics and science) – PPT based
