At ILP, career guidance is not about pushing students toward a single “right” profession. It’s about helping them understand themselves first—their interests, strengths, and ways of engaging with the world.

To make this self-understanding visible and actionable, ILP uses simple, structured frameworks that help students name what they feel but may not yet be able to articulate. This is where the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 becomes powerful.

The Holland framework groups interests into six broad personality types 𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗖 — 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 (𝗗𝗼𝗲𝗿𝘀), 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 (𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀), 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 (𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀), 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 (𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀), 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀), 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 (𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀) offering students a language to recognise patterns in what naturally draws them.

𝟭. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 (𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆𝘁𝗵𝘀)
The Holland Code helps students recognise patterns in what they enjoy—working with hands, ideas, people, structure, creativity, or leadership. ILP uses this to move career conversations beyond marks, degrees, and social pressure.

𝟮. 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼
RIASEC categories are simple and non-threatening, helping students, especially first-generation learners—talk about themselves without fear or labels.

𝟯. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Many students only see a narrow set of careers around them. Mapping a student’s Holland Code to multiple career paths helps ILP – Show options they didn’t know existed, Break the idea that success means only doctor/engineer/government job

𝟰. 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀
ILP emphasises that where and how you work matters as much as what you do. Holland Code reinforces this by focusing on: Work environments, Daily tasks, Natural preferences, not just job titles.

𝟱. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴
Career guidance at ILP is a process, not a one-time choice. The Holland Code gives students a starting point, helping them say: “This feels like me.”

That sense of recognition builds confidence—especially for students who’ve never been asked what they like or enjoy.
