Living this quote are the Vidya Saathis (VS) from Madhya Pradesh.

Vidya Saathis (i.e., friends for education) are village-level volunteers that ILP partners actively recruit and train in various villages.

Across various tiny villages of Madhya Pradesh, the youth from the local community have taken up the responsibility of educating the government school kids to strengthen their learning skills.

𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗷𝗮, 𝗮 𝗩𝗦 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗽𝘂𝗿 creates numerous Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs) that are proving to be highly beneficial for around 40+ children. All this while pursuing B.Ed whose fees are being sponsored by our NGO partner Sankalp.

𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝗮 𝗩𝗦 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 oversees more than 45 children in a center located in a temple premises for lack of space available to teach the children.

𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗚𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱, 𝗮 𝗩𝗦 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗚𝘂𝗱𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗮 has organized a space to teach the children in the milk center and also distributes milk and biscuits to the children supported by a donor.

𝗝𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗶, 𝗮 𝗩𝗦 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗞𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗱 who was working as a medical store assistant came home on leave and on realizing there was no educated person in the village to shoulder this responsibility joined as a VS. And despite knowing that the village is marked for displacement due to upcoming railway line layout and that the children she is teaching may migrate with their parents elsewhere, continues to be a dedicated VS.

𝗩𝗶𝗱𝘆𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 (𝗩𝗟𝗖𝘀), 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 (𝗙𝗟𝗡).

Vidya Saathis engage with all the children assigned to their VLC in a child-friendly and safe manner and ensure that the children are actively engaged in various learning activities.
