Swaram – Support a student’s education

Swaram is one of the largest volunteer-run theater groups in the Bay area. We have produced and staged six Bollywood style movie on stage over the past ten years for great audience reception.

At Swaram, ‘We Entertain to Educate‘. Funds raised through our productions in partnership with India Literacy Project (ILP) have made possible education for more than 84,000 children from elementary school through college degrees.

More importantly, we are creating a movement. Students that benefitted from our programs have now graduated and are helping other students. The pilot program we funded in one of the districts for schooling children of migrant workers has been adopted as a model program throughout Tamilnadu.
