If we don’t stand up for children, then we don’t stand for much. – Marian Wright Edelman, Child Rights Activist

And there can be no bigger service than teaching children how to stand up for themselves.

India Literacy Project joins hands with its partners to celebrate child rights month in November and practically teach children about the top 5 rights (as per un charter) each child is entitled to:

  • Right to life
  • Right to protection
  • Right to development
  • Right to participation
  • Right to education

Children were also taught to ensure that while they are aware of their rights, they should ensure they educate others and if they see the rights being violated, they can contact the below important numbers.

Remembering these numbers was taught by involving the children in human shape formation of these numbers.

  • Child helpline: 1098
  • Sakhi (for women): 181
  • Police: 100
  • Emergency number (fire, hospital): 112″
