Quality education is one of the strongest safeguards against child labour. It is more than access to schooling; it is about ensuring that children remain engaged, experience the joy of learning, and can envision pathways to a brighter future.
When education is relevant, inclusive, and supported by families and communities, children are more likely to stay in school and less likely to be vulnerable to child labour.
At ILP, we work to address these challenges across a child’s educational journey. Beginning with Anganwadis, we support school readiness and foundational literacy and numeracy, ensuring children start their learning journey on a strong footing.
In government schools, we make learning more engaging and meaningful through science kits, digital learning initiatives, ICT-enabled classrooms, and smart classroom interventions that spark curiosity and strengthen learning outcomes. As studentsโ progress, career guidance programmes help them understand their strengths, explore opportunities, and connect education with productive futures.
We also recognise that lasting change begins at home. Through community involvement, parent counselling, awareness initiatives, and efforts to strengthen parental participation, we help families understand the value of education and the opportunities it can unlock, fostering choices that keep children learning, growing, and aspiring towards brighter futures. As a result, children are more likely to remain in classrooms and less likely to be vulnerable to child labour.
This World Day Against Child Labour, let us reaffirm our commitment to strengthening public education systems that nurture potential at every stage of a child’s journey. Because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a future of choice, not circumstance.
