For many children, the Anganwadi centre is their first introduction to structured learning. Strengthening these centres plays an important role in helping children transition confidently into school and sustain their learning journey.
To support this early foundation, ILP is providing ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น (๐ง๐๐ ) ๐ธ๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฑ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ณ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ง๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ in the first phase of the initiative. With support from the ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐บ & ๐ง๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ท๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, each centre is being equipped with a โน25,000 learning kit to strengthen early childhood education.
Along with these resources, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers are being trained to use activity-based learning methods aligned with the Tamil Nadu Anganwadi syllabus and the โ๐๐ฑ๐ถ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ ๐ฉ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฎโ framework. The program is supported by 10 Early Childhood Education facilitators working under a state coordinator.
The 500 centres are located across Dindigul (150), Theni (50), and 100 each in Erode, Thoothukudi, and Trichy districts.
A ceremony to distribute education kits to 150 Anganwadi centres in Dindigul district was held at Soundaram Manimandapam, Gandhigram Trust. The event was attended by Dr. Ram Ramanujam, Founder of the Drs Ram & Thaila Ramanujam Foundation (USA), Dr. G. Pankajam, Former Vice Chancellor of Gandhigram University, and Gandhigram Rural Institute Professors Dr. K. S. Pushpa and Dr. Kavitha Maithily, who distributed the kits and spoke about the importance of strengthening early childhood education.
Around 200 participants, including ICDS officials, CDPOs from Dindigul, Erode, Thoothukudi and Theni districts, along with Anganwadi workers, attended the event.
